Wayne Geurink Family

Generations: Great Great Grandfather, Arent, migrated to the U.S. from the Netherlands in 1847. Hermina Oonk survived the wreck of the ship Phoenix in Lake Michigan, several miles off the coast of Wisconsin near the present city of Sheboygan to become his future wife, and my Great Great Grandmother. They married in 1854 and settled on an 80 acre homestead in an area that appears to now be part of downtown Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Arent and Hermina migrated from the Province of Gelderland, Netherlands.

Great Grandfather Henry John Geurink lived, and farmed, in Ringle Wisconsin, about 20 miles East of Wausau, from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s. Below he is taking a break in the field with Grandmother, Willie, and Grandfather, Jesse, Geurink.

Marathon County Highway N runs East and West diagonally along the bottom of the picture.

Daughter Nell (Kristin Nell) poses with a giant apple near Eagle River, WI
while on a camping trip to Northern Wisconsin during the summer of 1997.

Son Josh meets mother at O'Hare Airport, Chicago, IL, as he exits the plane on his return trip from a summer, 1995, archeological dig on a site near ancient Carthage in Tunisia. Obviously mother and son are happy to see each other.

Judy is looking for some devine guidance. No doubt a reaction to something I said.
Our guard cat, Crash, looks over her back yard domain. Here she's riveted on movement back in the trees. A mouse? Squirrel? Rabbit? Maybe a deer.
Here I'm playing with a photo by superimposing a picture of me walking in the background while I'm in my wheel chair with Judy and Nell behind me in our back yard.
