17 . Eva Effie4 Geurink (John3, Henry John2, Arent Jan1) was born in Town of Easton, WI, at home July 12, 1927.

. She married John VanVuren in Forestville Reformed Church, Town of Easton, WI, October, 2, 1946.

*Forestville Church Scene of Wedding - text taken from Wausau newspaper: Autumn leaves and flowers provided an attractive background in Forestville Reformed church, town of Easton, yesterday afternoon for the wedding of Miss Eva Geurink, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Geurink, town of Easton, and John A VanVuren, son of Mr. and Mrs. John R Van Vuren, town of Ringle.

Two vocal selections were given preceding and following the ceremony, which was performed by the Rev. T. A Laman. Andrew R Hettinga sang “I Love You Truly” and “0 Welcome Was the Call,” accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Truman Geurink.

Nylon silk brought back from Japan by the bride’s brother-in-law fashioned her wedding gown. It was styled with sweetheart neckline, long, pointed sleeves and an entrained skirt. Her full-length veil was caught to a coronet headdress and she carried an arm bouquet of red roses. Her attendants wore identically styled gowns of nylon, fashioned with full skirts and short, puffed sleeves and carried mixed bouquets of roses, carnations, chrysanthemums and pompons. The maid of honor, Miss LaVerne Geurink, sister of the bride, was attired in white; Mrs. Melvin Merriam town of Easton, and Miss Ida Abma, town of Ringle, were in orchid and Miss Eunice Rauwerdink, Cedar Grove, was gowned in blue.

Mrs. Geurink chose for her daughter’s wedding a dress of forest green crepe and the bridegroom’s mother was attired in green velvet. Both wore corsage bouquets of carnations.

Dinner seved to 150 guests at the WWER Community center and was followed in the evening by an informal reception. The clubhouse was decorated for the event with autumn leaves and orchid blue and white streamers.

The out-of-town guests included Mrs. John Smit, Denver, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rauwerdink and Edward Jensema, Cedar Grove; Mrs. Gertrude Manor, Sheboygan; Miss Helen Jensema, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jensema and sons, Roland and LaMont, and Mr. and Mrs. Trester Bloomers, Sheboygan Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Wilterdink and Floyd, Gordon, Carol and Elvira Jensema, Oostburg, and others from Chicago, Highland, Ind, and Wausau.

The couple will spend a honeymoon in Madison. They are to reside on a farm in the town of Plover and will be at home to friends after October 20.

John was born in Highland IN December, 11, 1926.
