• At 19 years of age Charles became the father of Matt Dominic Geurink in Menomonie, WI, July 28, 1964.
• At 24 years of age Charles became the father of Jill Geurink Madison, Wl, November 17, 1968.

Chucky went to town one day / With his Dad and Mother / Also with him, by the way, / Were little sis and brother. / After shopping ‘round awhile / They went somewhere to eat. / I saw them sit in a booth, in style, / Awaiting this special treat / The ice cream was enjoyed by all, / But to watch Chucky being fed, / Was a treat in itself - I can’t recall / A sight I enjoyed like that! / His checks and nose were so brightly pink / His hair so blond and his eyes so bright / He sat there waiting and made me think / Of a fat little cherub, made to delight / The eyes of sober old aunties, like me. / Mother gave him ice cream to eat / From a spoon - I do wish you could see / Him, enjoying this wonderful treat! / There was nothing else, at all, he could see / But that spoon! His mouth opened wide, / Like a little bird nesting in a tree! / He wanted that cream inside! / Back and forth the spoon would go / Chucky’s mouth followed bite by bite, / His cheeks got pinker, if mother was slow, / and his eyes were so very bright. / I’ll always remember Chucky so, / Eating ice cream from a spoon. / When he grows up, I’d like him to know, I But I hope that won’t be too soon!
