15. Viola4 Geurink (John3, Henry John2, Arent Jan1) was born Town of Easton, WI August 18, 1922.
She married Andrew Hettinga Town of Easton, WI, March 14, 1941. Andrew was born in Ringle, WI June 21, 1919. He was the son of Riemer Hettinga and Jemrie Sjeersma.
-After Viola’s death, Andrew married Grace Waite and later, Elaine Hedtke Edens, both of whom are now deceased.
*Text taken from Wausau newspaper: Mrs. Andrew Hettinga, 53, 514 S. Line Rd Rothschild died at a Madison hospital Monday at 7: 10 p.m.
Services will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at New Hope Community Church, Town of Easton. The Rev. Raymond VanBeek will officiate and burial will be in Forestville Cemetery, Town of Easton. Friends may call at Helke West Chapel, Wausau, after 3 p.m. Thursday, and at the church from noon Friday until time of services.
The former Viola Geurink was born Aug. 18,1922, in the Town of Easton, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Geurink. On March 14, 1941, in the Town of Easton, she married Andrew R Hettinga, who survives. She was a member of Mary Martha Circle and the Women’s Guild of the church. She was also on the Project Hope Evangelism team.
Survivors besides her husband include a daughter, Mrs. Robert Kolbeck 3977 Highway J. North Schofield; two sons, Roger, Anderson, Ill., and Vem, Holland Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. John VanVuren, Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Kenneth Hettinga, Coleman Route 1; three brothers, Truman Geurink, 6107 Randy J., Schofield, Lloyd Geurink, 2502 Elmwood Blvd, Wausau, and Glenn, 306 Falk St., Rothschild; and five grandchildren.
-The funeral for Viola was on January 16, 1976.
