I am the son of Wally Geurink from Orange City Iowa, My Uncle Gene Geurink lives there. My Grand Father was Henry Geurink of Orange city Iowa, it is a dutch town and every year there is a tulup festival with a real old world wooden shoe factory. My compliments on your web page. For the first 10 years of my life (1940-1950) I lived next door to Gradus and Sarah Geurink in Borculo, Michigan. I felt like part of the family then. I have many fond memories of "helping" with the harvesting...and I was always warned, "Don't walk close behind the horses (huge work horses), because they will kick." Nice to see this website. I am surprised that there Geurinks all over the world. A couple of years ago I found 63 Geurinks in the Netherlands of which 15 are female. I am married with Astrid and we have two children. I am working at the only iron, steel and aluminium compagny in the Netherland in Ymuiden and my interests are making videofilms, collecting stamps and Marklin trains. My son Richard, 25 years old, has an yellow beetle which is at least 25 years old. He is working at Copex Schiphol sending goods all over the world. My daughter Fleur is 22 years old and she is working in a creche. My parents are still alive in Haarlem the Netherlands and I think that my father is the oldest Geurink at this moment. He is 90 years young and every day he visit the town by bike. I have a brother Pieter Geurink hwo lives in Voorhout and a sister Joke Geurink who lives in Poppel Belgium. So that was a very short description of our family.
